My name is Kay Hansen, and I was born in Kappeln, Germany in 1979. Already in my childhood, I enjoyed drawing and painting. At the age of 15, I was introduced to the art of airbrush-painting by a friend of the family. I was fascinated by this technique, as it allows painting on nearly every surface and a high variety of motives - from detailed portrait to fantasy illustration, everything is possible. Fantasy is nearly unlimited with this way of painting.

I studied five semesters of Airbrush Design at the "Institut fuer bildende Kunst und Kunsttherapie (ibkk)", Germany's biggest art school that offers Airbrush-Design as a main subject. Here, I learnt theory and practise not only of airbrush-design but also of the artistic basics such as drawing, theory of colours etc. Moreover, I am a member of the International Association of Airbrush Artists (iAoAA), an international association of airbrush artists, which offers training etc.

Currently, I have suspended my studies, as I have moved to Shanghai, where I gather a lot of new impressions. Life, language and art of this country are fascinating and offer to me a number of new possibilities and ideas.
